Governance

Established as a charity and company limited by guarantee in 1983, in 2021 LRG changed its structure to that of a Charitable Incorporated Organisation (CIO). We retained the same charity number (287160) and are still registered with the Charity Commission.

Over the years we have also produced a range of statements of policy, and continue to modify, modernise or add to these as necessary, notably in line with best practice.

How are LRG Trustees elected?

LRG Trustees normally serve for three years, with terms staggered to maintain continuity. When positions are available for election, LRG members are invited to stand and members vote for candidates at the Annual General Meeting (AGM).

Trustees may stand for re-election, normally serving a maximum of three consecutive terms. The Board may also appoint trustees between AGMs to fill vacancies or add to the Board.
